Shaina Kelly is an engineer and geoscientist specializing in fluid flow in porous media characterization and special core analysis with multiple related publications. Shaina has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida (2011) and Master’s and PhD degrees in Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin (2015) with the dissertation “Using nanofluidics and microscopy to study unconventional pore-scale transport phenomena”. Shaina has 6+ years of research & development experience in the energy industry. After graduating from UT-Austin, she joined ConocoPhillips in Houston, TX where, as a Senior Petrophysicist in the company’s Geoscience organization, she worked on multiscale fluid-rock interaction characterization and research programs over a diverse set of geologic settings and rock types. Shaina also worked as a Senior Geoscience Engineer at AquaNRG Consulting Inc. where she worked with reactive transport (physical-chemical) modeling technologies for a variety of energy and environmental applications. When not studying rocks and other porous materials, Shaina enjoys endurance sports, hiking, and reading.
